Store-Level Profit vs. Product-Level Profit
When analyzing your business’ performance, it’s important to look beyond total revenue and dive into the details that truly drive profitability. Two common — but often confused — metrics are store-level profit and product-level profit. While both are valuable, they serve very different purposes and offer unique insights into your operations.
In this article, we’ll break down what each term means, how they differ, and when you should use them to make smarter business decisions. Whether you’re managing multiple retail locations or refining your product offerings, understanding these two perspectives can help you maximize profit and growth.
Store-Level Profit
This measures the overall profit generated by a specific store, considering all costs and revenues associated with the store.
Includes:
- Total sales revenue from all products listed in your Amazon store
- Amazon seller fees (referral fees, FBA fees, subscription costs)
- Advertising spend (e.g., Sponsored Products campaigns)
- Returns and refunds across all products
- Warehousing and fulfillment costs (if using FBA), i.e., Storage fee and Long Term Storage fee
- Business Expenses
- Other fees
These information can be found in the Management Insights tab.

Product-Level Profit
This zooms in on the profitability of a single product or ASIN, across all your sales.
Includes:
- Revenue from that specific product
- Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) – what it costs you to source or manufacture the product
- Amazon referral and FBA fees for that product
- Advertising spend related to that specific product
- Return rate and refund cost for that item
These information can be found under the Product Performance tab.
