Profit Calculation Context Preferences On the Store Overview

At Eva, we aim to provide our e-commerce partners with powerful tools to streamline operations and maximize profitability. One of the key features designed for this purpose is the Profit Calculation Context Preferences on the Store Overview page. This functionality enables you to customize how profit metrics are calculated and displayed, ensuring alignment with your specific business requirements and strategies.

The Store Overview Page has been updated to provide users with more control over their profit calculations. A  Preferences  button, with hover text reading, “Click here to set profit data context preferences,” has been added next to the date picker. Figure 1

This button opens a preferences bar that allows users to use toggles to choose whether to include reimbursements, shipping amount, and VAT in their profit calculations. The selections made with these toggles will be saved at the browser level so user preferences will be retained if the user navigates away from the page.

Reimbursement

The “Reim.” toggle allows users to choose whether to include reimbursement amounts in profit calculations. This toggle will not be visible for the EUR zone. If the toggle is enabled, the tooltip states, “The recovered cash amount is included in the profit calculation. (Product costs are deducted for applicable reimbursement reasons.)” If the toggle is disabled, the tooltip states, “The recovered cash amount is excluded in the profit calculation. (Product costs are deducted for applicable reimbursement reasons.)” Figure 2

Shipping

The “Shipping” toggle allows users to decide whether to include the amount customers pay for shipping when calculating profits. The tooltip explains whether the shipping amount is included or excluded based on the toggle’s state. Figure 3

VAT

The “VAT” toggle will only be visible for EU stores and is used to determine whether the VAT amount paid to authorities is included in profit calculations. The tooltip explains that users can choose to include or exclude this amount and indicates whether or not the VAT amount is included based on the state of the toggle. Figure 4

Impact on Cards

Net Profit Card

  • Enabling the “Reimbursement” toggle affects the Net Profit Card by including the Total Reimbursement Profit Impact in the calculation of Net Profit, ROI, and Margin metrics.
  • “Total Reimbursement Profit Impact” is calculated based on the “Total Reimbursement Sales Impact” and the “Total Reimbursement Reversal (Negative).”
  • These values take into account various reimbursement reasons and associated product costs.  Figure 5

Total Sales Card

  • The Total Sales card is affected by enabling the “Reimbursement” and “Shipping” toggles.
  • Enabling the “Reimbursement” toggle results in the Total Reimbursement Sales Impact being displayed on the backside of the card and in the extended dialog with the label “Reimbursement Amount.”
  • Enabling the “Shipping” toggle results in the “Shipping Amount” label being displayed on the backside of the card and in the extended dialog. Figure 6

The updated Total Sales Card is shown below:

Total Expense Card

  • Enabling the “Reimbursement” toggle results in the “Total Reimbursement Reversal (Negative)” being displayed on the backside of the Total Expense card and in the extended dialog with the label “Reimbursement Reversal.”
  • If the user selects “VAT” in the preferences bar, the “VAT” label will appear on the backside of the Total Expense card and in the extended dialog.
  • While the new preferences will affect the Total Sales calculation, the organic sales calculations will not be affected by these preferences. Figure 7
