Campaign Editing & Cancellation Logic
What Is Campaign Editing and Cancellation?
Campaign editing and cancellation logic defines when a campaign can be modified or stopped after it has been created.
The ability to edit or cancel a campaign depends on the campaign’s current status in the campaign lifecycle.
Editing Draft Campaigns
Campaigns in Draft status remain fully editable.
While a campaign is in Draft status, users can modify all campaign components, including:
- audience selection
- message content
- delivery safeguards
- scheduling settings
Draft campaigns remain editable until the campaign is scheduled or sent.

Editing Scheduled Campaigns
When a campaign is scheduled, it moves into Scheduled status and is queued for delivery.
Scheduled campaigns may still allow certain modifications before the scheduled send time.
Depending on system rules, users may be able to:
- adjust scheduling settings
- update message content
- modify audience settings
Changes made before the scheduled delivery time will apply when the campaign is sent.

Cancelling a Scheduled Campaign
If a scheduled campaign should no longer be delivered, it can be cancelled before the scheduled send time.
Cancelling the campaign removes it from the delivery queue and prevents it from being sent.
Once cancelled, the campaign will no longer be delivered to recipients.

Sent Campaigns
Campaigns that have already been delivered move to Sent status.
Sent campaigns cannot be edited or cancelled because the messages have already been delivered.
Instead, these campaigns remain available for:
- performance monitoring
- reporting and analytics
- historical campaign review

Why Editing and Cancellation Matter
Editing and cancellation controls help ensure that campaigns remain manageable before delivery.
These controls allow teams to:
- correct mistakes before a campaign is sent
- adjust campaign timing or content
- prevent unintended campaign delivery
Managing campaigns based on their lifecycle status helps maintain accurate campaign execution.
