AI Status Decisions Explained
AI Status Decisions represent automated actions where EVA changes the operational status of advertising entities based on predefined rules and performance conditions.
Instead of only adjusting bids or keywords, the system can also enable or pause campaigns, ad groups, or targets when certain conditions are met. These decisions help ensure that advertising spend is allocated efficiently and that campaigns operate only when conditions are appropriate.
Status changes are recorded in the AI Decisions page, allowing advertisers to review when the system has automatically activated or paused advertising entities.
Purpose of status automation

The primary goal of AI status decisions is to automatically control campaign activity in response to operational or performance conditions.
Automated status management allows the system to:
- pause advertising entities that are performing inefficiently
- stop advertising when inventory availability becomes limited
- reactivate campaigns when conditions improve
- maintain campaign health without constant manual monitoring
This automation helps advertisers avoid unnecessary spend while ensuring that campaigns remain active when they are likely to generate value.
When status decisions occur
Status decisions are triggered when performance metrics or operational conditions meet the thresholds defined by optimization rules.
These rules follow the same IF → THEN logic structure used throughout EVA’s optimization system.
For example:
IF a product has no available inventory
THEN pause advertising for that product
Or:
IF a product’s advertising performance significantly exceeds efficiency targets
THEN keep the campaign active
In other cases, the system may pause campaigns when they consistently fail to generate results or when advertising costs exceed acceptable thresholds.
When these conditions are met, EVA applies the status change automatically and records the action in the AI Decisions log.
Examples of status decisions
Status decisions may affect different types of advertising entities within the campaign structure.
Common examples include:
Campaign pause decisions
The system may pause an entire campaign when it determines that the campaign no longer meets performance expectations or when operational conditions require it.
For example, a campaign may be paused if the associated product becomes unavailable.
Target or keyword pause decisions
In some cases, EVA may pause individual targets or keywords within a campaign.
This allows the system to stop spending on inefficient targeting elements without disabling the entire campaign.
Campaign reactivation decisions
If conditions improve, EVA may reactivate previously paused campaigns or targets.
For example, if inventory levels recover or performance metrics return to acceptable levels, the system may enable the campaign again.
Where status decisions appear
When EVA changes the status of an advertising entity, the decision is recorded in the AI Decisions table.
Each entry typically includes information such as:
- the campaign or target affected
- the action performed (pause or enable)
- the rule responsible for the decision
- the timestamp of the action
This record allows advertisers to review how the system is managing campaign activity through automation.
Monitoring status automation
Reviewing status decisions helps advertisers understand how EVA is managing campaign availability and operational efficiency.
By analyzing status changes over time, advertisers can determine whether automation is pausing or activating campaigns appropriately based on performance conditions.
If necessary, optimization rules can be adjusted to modify how the system handles campaign status management.
