Email Content Builder Overview
Overview
The Email Builder is the centralized workspace used to create, edit, organize, and manage reusable email templates inside EVA Conversion & Retention.
Unlike campaign-specific message editing, the Email Builder is designed for long-term template management. Templates created here can later be reused across campaigns and flows, helping teams maintain consistent branding, structure, and messaging.
The Email Builder combines:
- visual drag-and-drop editing
- reusable template management
- responsive email design
- layout structuring
- styling controls
- preview and testing tools
This area acts as the foundation for email content creation throughout the EVA platform.
Step 1: Open the Email Builder

From the left navigation menu, click Email Builder.
The Email Templates page displays all existing templates available in the workspace.
This page is used to:
- create new templates
- edit existing templates
- duplicate templates
- rename templates
- delete unused templates
- organize reusable email structures
Each template card includes:
- the template name
- a visual preview
- current status
- quick edit access
- additional management actions
Search Existing Templates
Use the search field at the top of the page to quickly locate templates by name.
This is especially useful when managing larger template libraries.
Step 2: Create a New Template

Click New Template to create a new reusable email design.
A setup window appears requiring:
Template Name
Defines the internal name used to identify the template.
Examples:
- Welcome Series
- Promotional Banner Template
- Abandoned Cart Layout
Description (Optional)
Used for internal documentation or team organization.
Descriptions help clarify the template’s intended purpose.
After entering the required information, click Create Template.
The system then opens the visual email editor.
Step 3: Understand the Email Builder Interface

The Email Builder interface is divided into several functional areas.
1) Content & Styles Tabs
The left panel contains two primary editing modes:
Content

Used to build and structure the email itself.
This includes:
- adding blocks
- arranging layouts
- inserting images and text
- building the message structure
Styles

Used to control visual appearance across the email.
This includes design-related adjustments such as:
- typography
- spacing
- colors
- alignment
- styling consistency
These two modes separate structural editing from visual styling.
Step 4: Use Content Blocks
The builder uses drag-and-drop content blocks to construct the email.
Basic Content Blocks
Available blocks include:
Text
Adds editable written content.
Used for:
- headlines
- paragraphs
- announcements
- product descriptions
Image
Adds visual assets such as:
- banners
- logos
- promotional graphics
- product visuals
Button
Creates clickable call-to-action elements.
Examples:
- Shop now
- View collection
- Claim discount
Divider
Adds visual separation between sections.
Social Links
Displays linked social media icons.
Spacer
Adds adjustable spacing between elements.
HTML
Allows insertion of custom HTML code for advanced email customization.
Unsubscribe
Adds unsubscribe functionality required for email compliance.
This block is important for maintaining proper email permission and compliance standards.
Step 5: Use Layout Elements
Below the content blocks are structural layout components.
Columns
Used to divide content horizontally.
Examples:
- two-column product layouts
- image/text combinations
- side-by-side promotional sections
Section
Creates structured content containers that group related blocks together.
Sections help organize emails into clean visual areas.
Layout elements determine how content is positioned and displayed across devices.
Step 6: Understand Builder Categories
The builder includes multiple block libraries:
Basic
Contains standard editable blocks and layouts.
Pre-built
Contains ready-made content structures and reusable design patterns.
These help accelerate email creation.
Universal
Contains globally reusable elements that can maintain consistency across templates.
These categories reduce repetitive design work and help standardize communication.
Step 7: Edit Content Inside the Canvas

The center workspace is the live email canvas.
This area displays the actual email layout being built.
Users can:
- drag blocks into sections
- rearrange content
- click blocks to edit them
- visually structure the email
- preview spacing and hierarchy
Changes made inside the canvas update the email layout immediately.
Step 8: Use the Properties Panel

The right-side Properties panel controls the settings of the currently selected element.
When a block or section is selected, the Properties panel updates dynamically to display editable configuration options.
Depending on the selected element, available settings may include:
- spacing
- alignment
- typography
- colors
- button styling
- image behavior
- padding
- visibility settings
This panel acts as the detailed configuration layer of the builder.
Step 9: Switch Between Desktop and Mobile Views

The builder includes responsive preview modes.
Users can switch between:
Desktop
Displays the email as it appears on desktop email clients.
Mobile
Displays the responsive mobile version of the email.
This is critical because email layouts often behave differently across devices.
Responsive previewing helps identify:
- spacing problems
- oversized images
- broken layouts
- unreadable text
- mobile formatting issues
Step 10: Use Preview & Test

The Preview & Test feature allows users to inspect the email before saving or sending.
This helps validate:
- content placement
- formatting
- responsiveness
- overall appearance
Testing before publishing reduces delivery and presentation issues.
Step 11: Save and Manage Templates
The top-right controls manage template persistence.
Available actions may include:
- Save
- Save as new
- Exit
Save
Updates the current template.
Save as new
Creates a duplicate version while preserving the original.
This is useful when adapting an existing layout for new campaigns without modifying the source template.
Step 12: Manage Existing Templates

Each template includes a management menu with additional actions.
Available actions include:
Edit
Open the template inside the builder.
Rename
Update the internal template name.
Duplicate
Create a reusable copy of the template.
Delete
Permanently remove the template from the workspace.
These controls help teams maintain organized template libraries over time.
Step 13: Understand How Templates Connect to Campaigns

Templates created in the Email Builder are reusable assets.
When creating campaigns, users can load these templates directly into the campaign workflow instead of rebuilding emails from scratch.
This creates consistency across:
- branding
- layouts
- messaging structure
- promotional formatting
Templates therefore function as reusable building blocks for future marketing operations.
Step 14: Understand Why the Email Builder Matters
The Email Builder is one of the core operational tools inside EVA Conversion & Retention.
It enables teams to:
- standardize communication
- accelerate campaign production
- maintain design consistency
- build responsive emails visually
- reuse high-performing layouts
- reduce repetitive manual work
By combining reusable templates with drag-and-drop editing, the builder allows email production to scale efficiently without requiring coding knowledge.
