How Do I Create an Email or SMS Campaign?
Overview
Campaigns in EVA Conversion Intelligence allow you to send one-time messages to a selected audience using Email or SMS. Campaigns are typically used for announcements, promotions, product updates, reminders, or targeted marketing communications.
The campaign creation workflow guides you through several stages:
- Creating the campaign
- Selecting the recipients
- Configuring delivery safeguards and tracking
- Creating the campaign message
- Designing the message content
- Reviewing the campaign configuration
- Scheduling or sending the campaign
Campaigns remain in Draft status until they are scheduled or sent.
Step 1: Start a new campaign

Navigate to Campaigns from the left sidebar.
Click Create Campaign in the top-right corner of the Campaigns page.
This opens the Create Campaign window, where the basic campaign configuration is defined.
Step 2: Configure the campaign basics

Inside the Create Campaign window you will configure the foundational campaign settings.
Campaign name
Enter a Campaign Name.
This name is used internally to identify the campaign inside the Campaigns page and analytics dashboards. Using clear and descriptive names helps teams easily locate and manage campaigns later.
Campaign type
Choose the campaign structure.
Two options may appear:
- Omnichannel
This option sends a coordinated series of messages across multiple communication channels.
- Single Channel
This option sends a one-time message to a specific audience using a single communication channel.
For standard campaigns, select Single Channel.
Date
Select the date associated with the campaign.
This represents the intended campaign date. The exact send time and time zone will be configured later when scheduling the campaign.
Message type
Choose the communication channel used for the campaign.
Available options include:
Send a message to recipients using their email address.
- Text Message (SMS)
Send a message to recipients using their phone number.
This option may appear but requires WhatsApp configuration before it can be used.
After completing the configuration, click Continue.
Step 3: Select the campaign audience

The Audience step defines who will receive the campaign.
Send to
Use the Send To dropdown to select the audience for the campaign.
Audience sources may include lists, segments, or other audience groups available in the platform.
The selected audience determines which recipients are eligible to receive the campaign.
Estimated recipients
The interface displays an Estimated Recipient Count.
This value represents the number of profiles expected to receive the campaign based on:
- the selected audience
- the availability of the required contact information (email address or phone number)
- campaign delivery safeguards
This estimate helps evaluate the potential reach of the campaign before sending.
Step 4: Configure delivery safeguards
Delivery safeguards help prevent recipients from receiving too many messages within a short time period.
Smart Sending
Enable Turn on Smart Sending to prevent sending the campaign to profiles who recently received a message from your account.
This helps avoid message fatigue and improves overall engagement.
If Smart Sending is enabled, the system checks recent message activity before delivering the campaign.
Skip profiles who received a campaign message
Enable Skip Profiles Who Have Received a Campaign Message to exclude recipients who recently received another campaign message.
The default exclusion window is within the last 24 hours.
Skip profiles who received a flow message
Enable Skip Profiles Who Have Received a Flow Message to exclude recipients who recently received an automated flow message.
This prevents conflicts between campaign messages and automated flows.
The default exclusion window is also within the last 24 hours.
Step 5: Configure campaign tracking

The Tracking section controls how links in the campaign are tracked.
Include tracking parameters
Enable Include Tracking Parameters to automatically attach tracking parameters to campaign links.
These parameters allow campaign traffic to be tracked in external analytics tools such as web analytics or marketing attribution platforms.
Tracking parameters help measure how recipients interact with links inside the campaign.
Customize tracking parameters
Enable Customize Tracking Parameters to define custom tracking values.
This option allows advanced tracking setups, such as defining specific campaign sources, channels, or marketing identifiers.
If disabled, the system automatically applies default tracking parameters defined in account settings.
Step 6: Configure the campaign message

Next, configure the Email Message settings.
These fields determine how the email appears to recipients.
Subject line
Enter the Subject Line.
This is the text that appears in the recipient’s inbox and influences whether the email is opened.
Preview text
Enter Preview Text.
Preview text appears next to the subject line in many email clients and provides additional context for the email content.
Sender name
Enter the Sender Name.
This name is displayed as the sender in the recipient’s inbox.
Sender email
Enter the Sender Email Address.
This is the email address from which the campaign message is sent.
Reply-to configuration
Enable USE AS REPLY-TO if replies from recipients should be directed to this sender email address.
If this option is disabled, replies may be routed to the default reply address configured in system settings.
Step 7: Design the campaign content

Campaign content is created using the drag-and-drop email editor.
This editor allows you to build the email layout visually by adding content blocks and arranging them within the message.
Content blocks
Available blocks include:
- Text
Add formatted text content to the message.
- Image
Insert images such as banners or product photos.
- Button
Add clickable call-to-action buttons.
- Divider
Insert visual separators between sections.
- Social Links
Add icons linking to social media profiles.
- Spacer
Add spacing between content sections.
- HTML
Insert custom HTML for advanced content.
Layout blocks
Layout elements help structure the email design.
Available layout components include:
- Columns
Divide the email into multiple vertical sections.
- Section
Group multiple content blocks into a structured area.
Device preview
Use the preview controls to switch between:
- Desktop View
Shows how the email appears on desktop email clients.
- Mobile View
Shows how the email appears on mobile devices.
This helps ensure the email design is responsive across different screen sizes.
Preview and testing
Use Preview & Test to:
- preview the final email layout
- send test emails
- confirm formatting before sending the campaign
Step 8: Preview and Test

Before sending the campaign, the platform displays a Review page summarizing the campaign configuration.
This step verifies that all campaign components are correctly configured.
Recipients
Displays the selected audience and confirms that the recipient configuration is complete.
Email message
Displays the message configuration including:
- subject line
- preview text
- message content
- sender information
Warnings may appear if required elements are missing.
Examples may include missing unsubscribe links or incomplete message configuration.
From and replies
Confirms the sender identity and reply-to configuration.
Tracking
Displays the tracking configuration for campaign links.
Tracking is marked as completed when properly configured.
Step 9: Schedule or send the campaign
[Insert Screenshot: Schedule or Send button]
When the campaign configuration is complete, click Schedule or Send.
You can then choose to:
- Schedule the campaign
Select a future send date and time.
- Send the campaign immediately
Once scheduled or sent, the campaign status changes from Draft to Scheduled or Sent.
Campaign performance metrics such as open rate and click rate will begin to appear after the campaign is delivered.
